Inside the Foohallen there are nearly 20 stalls with foods ranging from Texas sausages to Vietnamese rice paper rolls. Over 37 million euros were spent transforming the 1900s-era electric tram maintenance facility into a trough for food loving Amsterdamers and tourists.
On visits to Amsterdam back in the aughts I remember the old tram building being used by squatters as a place to live. Oh how times have changed.
