Poche’s bills its meat market as “Cajun To The Bone” and there’s no doubting the truth in that slogan. They put out good versions of just about every Cajun meat from Andouille to Paunce to Tasso but the real gem of the operation is the little meat and three diner off to the side of the market.
I go here for smothered pork roast, fried catfish, pork backbone stew, at least three different types of rices each day and some of the best crawfish etouffe that you will ever put in your mouth.
And their potato salad is one for the ages.
