It’s appropriate that post #1000 on Chowpapi is related to the second line culture of New Orleans. I get more pleasure from the Social Aid and Pleasure Club parades than any other facet of our glorious, broken city.
Including food.
Every Sunday from September through May, you’ll find me dancing through the streets of New Orleans, and documenting the beautiful scene that rises up for a few hours in a riotous pageant of hot brass, smoked turkey legs and coconut daquiris.
The Sunday second lines are the best parties New Orleans throws all year long and I wouldn’t trade them for love nor money.
