2016 Seedtime On The Cumberland In Whitesburg Kentucky
I’d be willing to bet you’ll be able to buy a bowl of soup beans and a pone of cornbread at this two day party slated to go off on June 3rd and 4th 2016 in Whitesburg, Kentucky.
Appalshop, the now-legendary East Kentucky concern is the promoter of the party.
This non-profit got its start in 1969 during the LBJ administration when President Johnson’s Office Of Economic Opportunity began developing ways for the youth of Kentucky to participate in film and TV technology.
It’s been running strong ever since.
Appalshop lost its funding from OEO in 1974 but that did not slow them down. They reorganized as a non-profit and began expanding into theatre, the recording of music, radio (WMMT is a fantastic mountain radio station) and other educational projects.
Seedtime On The Cumberlands began in 1987 and this year will celebrate its 29th year.
The party takes place on June 3rd and 4th 2016 in Whitesburg, Kentucky.
