Black lumberjacks built the structure that would become Ruby’s Roadhouse some 60 years later. There was no bar in Mandeville for them to party in so they did what any enterprising drinkers would do, they built their own damn bar.

Back then it was called Bucks Brown Derby.
A recent visit to Ruby’s (est.1984) found the old roadhouse sagging a mite with a scraggly band of old timers chain smoking and drinking cold Michelob beers.
