Louisiana Daily Photo: Huey P. Long Bridge

In 2011, the American Society of Civil Engineers dedicated the Huey P. Long Bridge as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.

That’s a really big deal. There are only four structures in Louisiana that have been accorded the honor (Eads South Pass Navigation Works in New Orleans; McNeill Street Pumping Station in Shreveport and Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge in
New Orleans are the other three.)
